Liise's Accommodation is situated in Ruhnu island in the middle of the Gulf of Liivi. The area of the island is 11,9 km². Around 60 people live here perennially. Ruhnu was first mentioned in 1341. At the beginning of the last century, when the island was inhabited by a Swedish community the population was five times larger. Everyday work was done as a collective activity. Men worked at the sea and women on the land. The Swedish community left the island in the years 1943-1944 and new inhabitants came from the mainland and from other islands.
Ruhnu is now the smallest parish in the country. The island is accessible during the summer by boat and from autumn to spring by plane. Liise's Accommodation is located in a little village under heritage protection in the middle of the island. The harbor and the airport are in 3 kilometres distance. We began offering accommodation in 1999. Our rooms are spread between two red camping houses and two renovated cottages. The last ones date back to the years 1880 and 1933. Small store in the middle of our area is open to all the visitors.
